Aleksey Muratov: Blockchain to create alternative system not only in financial sphere but also in other directions

On January 26, a conference of Indian cryptocurrency users was held in the capital of Thai Bangkok. The event was organized by the International Public Movement Change the World Together.

As noted by Chairman of the Board of CWT Aleksey Muratov, over 100 representatives of leading Indian cryptocurrency organizations-users arrived to the conference on blockchain and cryptocurrency. ʺWe managed to organize and bring together users of Bitcoin, E-dinarcoin, Ripple, Litecoin, Monero, Dash and representatives of Indian cryptocurrency exchange,ʺ he said.

According to Aleksey Muratov, the conference was of an organizational nature. ʺIn addition to taking stock of 2016, my colleagues and I also discussed the prospects for the development of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency not only in India but also in other countries,ʺ Chairman of the Board of CWT said.

The activity of neighboring China was considered as an example. ʺJust the other day, the People's Bank of China has successfully completed tests for the issuance of the digital promissory notes approved and accepted by the bank." Several commercial banks, such as the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Bank of China and WeBank, were involved in the tests. "It should be noted that a trial issuance of the digital promissory notes is another step of the People's Bank of China towards the issuance of a digital currency based on blockchain technology," Aleksey Muratov said.

He also said that a research institute was planned to be opened shortly in China to deal with digital currency issues. "It is not yet clear whether this will be an independent organization or a unit of one of the regulators in China, but, according to public information, in addition to the cryptocurrency, this institution will deal with the establishment of its own Chinese electronic currency," Aleksey Muratov emphasized.

He also reported that world financiers intended to use blockchain to fight corruption and bureaucracy. "Head of central South Africa Lesetja Kganyago said that blockchain could automate many bureaucratic processes and make financial and economic services more effective during the Forum in Davos,ʺ Aleksey Muratov explained.

"Communicating with the users of various cryptocurrencies of India, I reiterated that the possibilities of blockchain are very diverse. This will allow creating an alternative system not only in the financial banking sphere but also in other directions in the near future," Aleksey Muratov summed up.
